SECURITY ATLAS / EVALUATION BRIEF Druva Data Security Cloud Research reviewed: 2026-10-18 https://atlasofsecurity.com/landscape/vendors/druva-data-security-cloud/ THE ATLAS TAKE Druva Data Security Cloud is worth evaluating when the buyer wants cloud-operated protection with recovery workflows that can distinguish suspicious snapshots from intended recovery points. The public release notes are especially useful because they expose workload, license and regional qualifications that a broad platform statement can hide. Atlas would select one actual workload and prove the sequence from protection through recovery selection to restored application. Snapshot scanning and VM restoration are different procedures. Their existence does not independently prove clean recovery or make every advertised feature available in every tenant. SCOPE Evaluate the selected backup workloads and Cyber Resiliency entitlement. Recovery plans, curated snapshots and restore scans have workload and region limits; the March 2026 VMware recovery-plan release also identifies availability restrictions. WORTH A LOOK WHEN Teams evaluating SaaS protection and cyber recovery for explicitly supported workloads and regions. THINK TWICE WHEN The deployment requires a feature unavailable in the selected cloud region, workload or license. IMPLEMENTATION 1. Build a feature-to-workload matrix Record the tenant region, workload type, license and supported recovery functions for each critical service. 2. Prove the recovery-selection process Use safe test data and document snapshot quarantine, evidence and the selected recovery point. 3. Validate the restored service Exercise the supported plan or restore path and check the application, dependencies and remaining manual work. OPERATING REALITY Cloud operation removes some infrastructure work but leaves connector health, identity, protected scope and application validation with the customer. Operators must understand quarantine, snapshot selection and restore-scan behavior for each workload. Recovery evidence should include what was inspected and when, rather than a generic clean label detached from the restored service. COMMERCIAL CONSIDERATIONS Quote the selected protection workloads and Cyber Resiliency functions with their license conditions. Include recovery destinations, transfer and customer-operated validation. - Protected workloads and selected subscription - Recovery-intelligence/plan entitlement and region - Recovery consumption, transfer and operational testing EVALUATION PLAN / PROPOSED TESTS, NOT COMPLETED RESULTS 1. Verify the pilot feature in the actual tenant Acceptance evidence: Record license, region and supported workload. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ 2. Choose a recovery point from safe labeled snapshots Acceptance evidence: Keep scan/curation scope and decision evidence. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ 3. Execute a supported isolated application recovery Acceptance evidence: Record data age, elapsed time and a business transaction. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ QUESTIONS FOR THE VENDOR - Which workloads support curated recovery versus only quarantine? - Where does a scan run and when does the restored data become accessible? - Are recovery plans available for the exact region and license? EVIDENCE GAPS - Atlas has not independently measured restore speed or snapshot-analysis accuracy. - Confirm current tenant-specific availability, especially restricted cloud regions.
