SECURITY ATLAS / EVALUATION BRIEF HYCU R-Cloud Research reviewed: 2026-10-18 https://atlasofsecurity.com/landscape/vendors/hycu-r-cloud/ THE ATLAS TAKE HYCU R-Cloud deserves evaluation when protection must span selected hybrid, cloud or SaaS applications and the recoverable object matters more than a server count. The first task is to select the exact edition and connector; documentation is split across deployment families for a reason. Atlas would make each pilot restore application data with its important metadata, permissions and relationships. A connector that discovers an application is not automatically proof of the required recovery depth. Storage ownership, immutable retention and exit procedures should be established for each destination instead of assumed across the R-Cloud brand. SCOPE Select the exact R-Cloud edition and connector. Hybrid Cloud, Azure, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace have separate documentation. Storage immutability, export and recovery behavior must be checked for each application and destination. WORTH A LOOK WHEN Teams protecting explicitly selected cloud or SaaS applications with object-level recovery requirements. THINK TWICE WHEN The proposed connector cannot restore the required application objects, metadata or supported destination. IMPLEMENTATION 1. Define recoverable business objects List the records, attachments, permissions and relationships needed for one representative application workflow. 2. Map the edition and storage path Record connector permissions, data location, retention and supported immutable-storage behavior. 3. Test recovery and exit Restore a supported object set, validate the application and document how data and configuration can be exported or migrated. OPERATING REALITY Application administrators must help define recoverable objects and validate restored relationships. Platform operators maintain connector permissions, coverage and storage configuration. SaaS schemas and APIs change, so a meaningful recovery exercise should be repeated after important integration changes; discovery success alone is not enough to declare continuing protection. COMMERCIAL CONSIDERATIONS Quote the exact R-Cloud edition, connector and protection scope. Include customer-controlled storage where selected, retained capacity, recovery destination and operational integration work. - Selected edition, connectors and protected data scope - Storage destinations, capacity and retention - Recovery/exit requirements and application-owner effort EVALUATION PLAN / PROPOSED TESTS, NOT COMPLETED RESULTS 1. Restore a deleted synthetic application object Acceptance evidence: Verify important metadata and relationships. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ 2. Review retention on the actual destination Acceptance evidence: Capture the supported storage control and effective permissions. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ 3. Exercise a documented export or exit path Acceptance evidence: Record data usability and any application-specific limitations. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ QUESTIONS FOR THE VENDOR - Which object types and metadata are excluded by the connector? - Who owns the backup bucket and its retention configuration? - Can the team export usable data if the source SaaS application is unavailable? EVIDENCE GAPS - Atlas has not independently tested connector completeness or object recovery fidelity. - Confirm exact edition, application object support and destination-specific storage behavior.
