SECURITY ATLAS / EVALUATION BRIEF Netskope One DLP Research reviewed: 2026-10-18 https://atlasofsecurity.com/landscape/vendors/netskope-dlp/ THE ATLAS TAKE Netskope One DLP uses a cloud-delivered policy foundation across supported traffic, cloud data, and endpoint activities. Its endpoint capability is an optional add-on to the Netskope Client, which is an important boundary for buyers already using the service for web access. Atlas analysis: the compelling test is whether the same sensitive document is recognized and handled correctly across your required channels. Inspect traffic steering, encrypted-content visibility, application context, and local-device actions separately. A unified policy concept does not establish that every upload, printer, or unmanaged device passes an enforcement point. SCOPE Endpoint DLP and DSPM require explicit scope and entitlement checks. Routed traffic depends on its inspection path, endpoint enforcement on the applicable client, and SaaS API controls on connector permissions and supported actions rather than network routing alone. WORTH A LOOK WHEN Organizations combining cloud and web inspection with selected endpoint data controls in a Netskope-based access architecture. THINK TWICE WHEN The team assumes web-security entitlement automatically includes Endpoint DLP or that unsteered traffic receives identical protection. IMPLEMENTATION 1. Map required channels Separate web upload, API-connected data, email, printer, and removable-storage requirements. 2. Pilot classification and route Use synthetic records and verify traffic and client coverage before blocking. 3. Establish exception ownership Define legitimate sharing, encrypted-file handling, investigator access, and timed exceptions. OPERATING REALITY Traffic steering, TLS inspection exceptions, application context, client versions, classifiers, and incident review need maintenance. Atlas analysis: begin with a documented route map and synthetic data. Validate direct application access and local endpoint movement separately so an unprotected path cannot hide behind a successful browser demonstration. COMMERCIAL CONSIDERATIONS Quote DLP channels, client add-ons, and adjacent inspection products explicitly against the protected population. - Protected users and licensed channels - Endpoint DLP add-on and client rollout - Traffic inspection and policy operations EVALUATION PLAN / PROPOSED TESTS, NOT COMPLETED RESULTS 1. Prove the cloud route Acceptance evidence: Capture a synthetic upload, matched policy, TLS handling, and actual block or allow outcome. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ 2. Prove endpoint scope Acceptance evidence: Test a permitted and prohibited removable-storage or print action on a supported lab device. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ 3. Check a bypass path Acceptance evidence: Exercise direct or excluded traffic and document whether it is protected elsewhere or remains an accepted gap. Owner: __________ Pass criterion: __________ Observed result: __________ Evidence location: __________ QUESTIONS FOR THE VENDOR - Does the selected event come from an inline transaction, a SaaS API scan or an endpoint agent? - Which actions remain available when an endpoint is offline or traffic follows a different route? - Are endpoint, DSPM and AI-related capabilities included in the proposed subscription and supported on the required operating systems? EVIDENCE GAPS - No independent classifier-accuracy, latency, or endpoint-impact measurement was performed. - OS, application-action, and channel support require current confirmation.
